There are recent publications on impaired sensory perception in dystonia. The objective of the study was to examine the thresholds of tactile and pain sensitivity according to esthesiometry in the patients with dystonia. We found a decrease in pain threshold, but no tactile sensitivity impairment, in the patients with spasmodic torticollis, compared to the healthy individuals. Tactile sensitivity threshold of eyelids area is decreased in the patients with blepharospasm compared to the patients with gemifacial spasm. This evidence, coupled with literature data, suggests a primary defect in the perception of sensory information in patients with torticollis and blepharospasm.ru_RU
