| Abstract: | Harvard Business Review called Data Science the sexiest profession of the 21st century. Glassdoor named Data Science and Data Engineering the two top paying professions for 2016. And several industry analysts have stated that demand for these professions will far outstrip supply of qualified candidates. This constant barrage of news has created a tsunami of aspiring data scientists and data engineers rushing in to these new professions. With few universities offering formal training in these fields and with the opportunity being immediate there is a great deal of confusion as how to take advantage of this opportunity. In this presentation Leon Katsnelson will introduce the new and unorthodox approaches IBM is pursuing to help democratise access to critical skills. |
